The Ohio Grand Championship is a one-of-a-kind competition created exclusively for Ohio school cheer and dance programs. This premier event brings together teams from elementary through varsity levels to showcase their spirit, talent, and school pride. With divisions tailored specifically for school cheer and dance, The Ohio Grand celebrates what makes Ohio programs unique and gives athletes the chance to shine on a statewide stage.

Why should my team attend?

The Ohio Grand offers more than just competition—it’s an opportunity for recognition that goes above and beyond. Varsity and non-varsity divisional winners earn individual champion banners for every team member, team trophies, and banners for top placements. Grand Champions in both the Traditional/All-Music and Game Day Hot Shots divisions will receive individual awards such as jackets, t-shirts, and medals, plus exclusive In-Bids to the 2027 InterNational Championship, a $500 team summer camp scholarship, and a featured spotlight on the AmeriCheer Family of Brands website. Special recognitions including Ohio Grand Cheerleader of Cheerleaders, All-American honors, Coach of the Year, and even the Best Student Section Spirit Cup make this event an unforgettable experience for athletes, coaches, and school communities alike.

-Specialty recognition awards to be given out:

• The Ohio Grand Ideal Senior Cheerleader Recipients
• The Ohio Grand All-American Individuals (a minimum of ONE and up to THREE All-Americans that will be chosen from each performance)
• The Ohio Grand Cheerleader of Cheerleaders
• The Ohio Grand Coach and Rookie Coach of the Year
• The Ohio Grand Administrator of the Year
• The Ohio Grand All-State Dance Team

Coach of The Year

Grace Gregory has redefined what’s possible for the Lakewood Middle School Cheer program. Since taking over in 2022, she has united athletes from multiple schools and built a team culture grounded in trust, confidence, and belonging.

In just her second season—coaching independently—Grace led Lakewood to historic achievements, including an inaugural Cleveland West Conference Championship and standout performances at major competitions like Best in the State and the Northeast District Championship, all with a roster of just seven athletes.

Beyond the wins, Grace is known for her patience, compassion, and individualized support. She creates a safe, inclusive environment where athletes feel heard, empowered, and inspired to grow both on and off the mat.

Balancing a full-time professional career alongside her coaching, Grace shows up every day with energy, care, and unwavering commitment. She doesn’t just coach cheer—she builds confidence, leadership, and community. Grace Gregory truly embodies the spirit of a Coach of the Year.
